Jenn-Air refrigerator JFC2089WEM11 icemaker is not working. A rep had me check to make sure that the water feed tube wasn't frozen and he said I need to talk to tech support to check that the part that calls for water when needed is working properly

Do you mean where the water line is connected to the back of the fridge or where the saddle taps into the cold water pipe down in the basement ?

I’m nor sure where the water valve is.

That valve should be in the machine compartment/compressor area behind the fridge.

Rory,

Here is the latest on the fridge and icemaker. I pulled the fridge out from the wall, and noticed that the copper water line from the basement feeds into a plastic tube that goes up almost to the top of the fridge. I assume that it feeds into the water filter just inside. It then runs back out all the way back down to the bottom of the fridge and connects to another tube which enters through the back of the fridge. Two other plastic tubes emerge from a small opening (about 1 1/2 inches square). One of those feeds the icemaker and the other one feeds the cold water dispenser that is inside the fridge on the side wall. The water dispenser still works normally so if there is a blockage, it would have to be in the line that runs from inside the fridge to the icemaker. I would have to remove the metal panel covering the bottom 11 inches of the back of the fridge to get access to the beginning of that line. That metal panel has the water lines going in and out as well as the entry point for the electrical supply. To proceed any further at this point would be beyond my capabilities. The only two choices I have would be to call someone who repairs refrigerators to check for a blockage or to install another icemaker to see if it would work. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Jim Anderson

If you do not feel confident in removing the machine compartment cover I would recommend calling a tech.
