Is it safe to run my dryer if the timer doesn’t advance? It doesn’t seem to be overheating. It doesn’t get hot on air dry.
A model number would be helpful.

Should be 3 digits, a period and then an additional 8 digits.
It would be best to find out what is causing it to not advance.
Does it not advance in both timed and auto cycles?
Thanks for responding Denman. The model no. is 110 62512101. It’s a Kenmore Dryer. I will try to repair it with the help of all of you on this blog. In the meantime, is it safe to use if I stop it after 30-40 minutes?
Also, it won’t advance on either setting. Auto, timed or air dry.
Here are your parts

Sears parts has actual part breakdown diagrams but they do not share these with other vendors.
See the attachment for the wiring diagram.
It should be OK to run but I will not recommend it as then something will happen for sure.
Odds are that it is a timer problem.
If you measure across the timer motor and it is getting 240 volts and not advancing then it is the timer for sure.
