Insalling new Transmission gearcase on Maytag washer.. Mvwx700xl1

Main Symptom: Installing new gearcase.. new one arrived with different mounting hub!
What happens & when: Tub is installed with aluminum Drive block Kit with 1 11/16 nut

New Transmission came with a new nylon mountin hub with clip to hold te tub to the drive shaft.

My old one (14 years) is installed with the aluminum drive block kit that requires the TB123A spanner/wrench for removal.(very tight and requires lots of force).
My question is….. Is the new nylon/plastic mounting hub that came with the new gearcase a direct replacement for the aluminum mounting kit that was originally installed?
The old one is not easy to remove ….it requires strong whacks of a hammer plus the spanner/wrench to remove it. The new nylon one is jut the hub and screws plus a clip!

it looks like they have replaced the older metal hub assembly with the new version you received. It is probably due to the metal hub breaking and being hard to remove.

Thanks for relplying…good to confirm.
Thank goodness for that… the old aluminum hub is still seized on tight! and it was a huge effort to undo that 1 11/16 holding nut using the spanner/wrench and large hammer.
Plastic/Nylon parts have their advantages!
