I would first suspect a faulty paddle switch. To test it, unplug the refrigerator and remove the control board so you can access the switch wiring harness connection at the board.

Locate and disconnect the harness with five wires going into it (red, red/black stripe, white, red, and black). Using a multimeter, check for continuity between the purple wire and the red wire with the black stripe.

With the paddle switch not depressed, there should be no continuity. Depress the paddle and check again. If continuity is present when the paddle is depressed, the switch is functioning properly and additional testing will be required.

If the continuity reading does not change when the paddle is pressed, the switch has failed and the entire switch module (240563637 Refrigerator Dispenser Module Assembly | Genuine Frigidaire OEM In Stock) will need to be replaced.

One final check, if the switch tests good, is to inspect the wiring at the top hinge of the freezer door for any frayed, damaged, or broken wires. You may need to remove the hinge cover to gain access to the wiring.
