I see an ice built up or frost on the evaporator in my GE GFE26JSMAFSS. What could be the issue

What happens & when: I hear compressor and the fan near it is running, ice maker is also working.

Sounds as if you evaporator defrost element ( GE WR51X30141 Refrigerator Defrost Heater | Genuine OEM Part ) is not working. Could be caused either by a failed element , a bad defrost thermostat ( GE WR50X10069 Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat | Genuine OEM Part ) or a control or wiring issue
