I installed a new WR30X10093 ice maker. It fills with water and freezes but does not eject the ice cubes. I've also tried the recommended reset procedure and it didn't help

Brand: GE
Model Number: TPX24PRBB BB
Main Symptom: Not ejecting ice cubes
What happens & when: My ice maker quit working recently so I ordered a replacement model #WR30X10093. Installation was easy. It filled the ice maker with water and froze. Unfortunately, it does’t eject the ice cubes. I’ve tried the reset procedure multiple times but it still doesn’t eject the ice cubes. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any replies.

If the icemaker is not cycling on its own but will during reset then check the temperature in freezer to make sure that it is between 0 and 10 degrees. If the temperature is correct but will not cycle then this will be an icemaker that is faulty.

Thanks for the reply. The freezer section is only 33 degrees. I pulled the inside back cover off and there isn’t any frost buildup. Today I replaced the defrost timer and that didn’t help lower the temperature. Any ideas as to what is preventing the freezer section from getting cold enough?

With the freezer temp only being 33 degrees then this would likely be a sealed system issue. Sounds like there was very little frost on the coils and this would cause the problem.

Thanks Ed. The technician came out and said the same thing. The refrigerator lasted for 27 years so I think I got my money’s worth. :slightly_smiling_face: I’ve ordered a new Cafe’ French door model. I hope it lasts neatly as long.
