I installed a new control board and it will not program. GE Washer GTW680xxxx

Main Symptom: Control board will not program.
What happens & when: Installed new control board. Plugged washer in and lights begin flashing (as expected). I hit the start button and lights go out (as expected). Continue hitting start button to scroll through personalities and nothing happens. I’ve tried at least 20 times and it remains dark.

With the unit not allowing you to program the board, it sounds like a there could be a communication issue. Double check all connections to make sure that there are no loose or damaged wires. If this is not the case then you may have received a faulty board.
