Have the clothes been taking longer to dry before the dryer started shutting down from overheating?
it heats up and in two to five minutes it shuts off and it won’t start until it cools down. I replace the cycling thermostat and the Dryer thermal fuse. I have a feeling that it could be the motor? due to when I start it, it makes a load noise but it goes away.
What type of noise is the dryer making, and has the ventilation leading to the outside of the home been thoroughly cleaned? Improper air flow can cause over heating.
its load noise like its scrapping but goes away as it gets going. I cleaned the air away first thing I did. plus I ran it with out a hose and it turn of with in minutes
Does the spin basket rotate with only a little resistance and is the blower wheel secured to the motor drive shaft properly? Another thing to check would be if any of the felt seals have a leak that might be allowing excess hot air to build up in the dryer, and if the rollers and idler pulley rotate freely. If the drum rotates with only a little resistance, and if everything else checks ok, it is possible that the motor has a failure causing this issue. 279827 Dryer Drive Motor | Genuine Whirlpool OEM In Stock
