What happens & when: must replace often
I own a large apartment complex. My maintenance team usually uses universal replacement burners. I am wondering if they need to be more specific to the unit and this is why they go out often. Would I be better off purchasing exact replacement parts?

Hi cspennato, a lot of the time the answer is yes, but not always. Many manufacturers use the same exact parts across different makes and models. However, it’s always safer and better to use the part that is specifically listed for your model. I would recommend cross-referencing the part numbers before using a substitute to ensure compatibility. How are the elements failing?
They seem to overheat. Then stop working. A lot of the stoves are damaged on the cooktop surrounding the burner. It seems it got really hot and bubbled up the paint surrounding the element.
It is happening with both my Frigidaire and Hotpoint stoves.
