Maybe it is: whirlpool type 2555a
It is probably ED5CHQXKQ05.
Note: just Q’s instead of O’S
You are right! I was thinking maybe the O’s are Q’s, but it was really not clear. So with this model, will it be normal to have a hot frame during a warm start of the fridge?
Thanks!
Any one has an update on this model ED5CHQXKQ05? Thanks!
Make sure the vents on the kick plate and rear cover are also clean.
Be sure to unit with the covers on as they usually direct air over the condenser coils to remove the heat.
Make sure the condenser/compressor fan blades are clean. Dirty blades can drastically reduce air flow.
Give it more time, could be that when trying to get the unit down from room temperature the condenser coil just cannot keep up.
It is normal for the frame to be warm as this reduces the chance of condensation on the frame.
Not normal to be hot but I doubt it is a low freon issue.
I was having the same issue and checked the coils first like suggested. I don’t have a Whirlpool ( I have Kenmore), but the coils were located in the same place and mannnnnnnn they were dirty. Just cleaned them out the best I could. Will see in the morning if the frame cools down. Thank all who posted with a solution. I’m pretty sure this will do the trick.
Eventually I got a repairman. The real problem WAS the condenser fan! It was turning when I looked at it. Lucky for the repairman. When he came, the fan stopped running! So he replaced it and everything works normally now. I guess although the fan was running when I saw it, it might not have run at proper speed. Also, it is possible that it went on and off, not cooling the condenser enough.
Just want to have a closure on the issue. Thanks all who helped!
