My daughter ran the dryer without the lint screen and now the dryer runs but it has no heat. I checked the exhaust tube and found a sock in it. Removed it and still no heat. My guess is that this probably triggered some mechanism to shut the heat off. Any advice to get the heat back?
Very likely the problem is a bad safety thermostat (there are three of them). Here is the Service manual.
