Does not start but lets you pick cycles and other options. When you press start it does nothing for about 1 min then shuts off.

Make sure the electrical connection is sound. Check for loose ground, or loose neutral. Test for 120VAC at the water valve during what would be the fill cycle.

You also may want to check the door switches.
