My washer will agitate but won’t spin. I have replaced the timer and the belt looks new. The moter is running but when it gets to the spin cycle nothing happens. I am assuming that it is the transmission and brake assembly but am not really sure. What do you think is wrong with the Bleeping thing?
Does it make any noise when it comes to spin?

Yes, it sounds like it’s doing what it should be doing but it doesn’t spin. Moter is running, sort of turns a little but then doesn’t go into a full spin. I’ve been told that it is the transmission big $$ more than it is to buy a used one but I really want to keep it, I don’t like the idea of a used washer. I need to know how involved it is to install a new transmisssion. I’m determined but a novist. Got any ideas?
Most likely the problem is a bad transmission.
In order to replace it the washer has to be taken apart almost completely and you will need a helper.
Unfortunately I do not have a service manual for this washer and I’m not able to guide you through the process.
May be somebody else on this forum can help with the step by step instructions.
