GE Refrigerator (GSH25JGDD WW) water dispenser doesn't work (but ice maker does)

Brand: GE
Model Number:GSH25JGDD WW
Main Symptom: Water dispenser doesn’t work
What happens & when: No water is dispensed when you push on the dispenser. I can hear a click on the master control board (on the back of the refrigerator) when I push on the actuator. The ice maker works as expected so I know there is water getting to the refrigerator. I have already replaced the filter with a new one. I think the filter is before both the water dispenser and the ice maker so it couldn’t be a filter issue.

I suspect that the master control board is the problem.

I tried searching for the board on AppliancePros without success. I called AppliancePros for assistance but the person helping me didn’t seem to know the topic at all.

Thanks!

Bruce

Try this first: remove the grill at the bottom. There should be a water fitting where you can disconnect the water line. Remove the fitting, close the door, and briefly press the water dispenser paddle. If you see water shoot out of the tube, then you know water is getting that far. This means the tubing inside the door is frozen. Over time, the insulation gets saturated with moisture, which then freezes inside the door. The only way to fix the problem long term is repolace the door.
