HI - Sorry for not posting correctly.
I just moved into a new home and it has GE GTS18FBMDRWW refrigerator that was made in July 2002 so it is 24 years old.
I pulled it away from the wall and unplugged it and took the rear lower cover off it and cleaned everything with a vacuum and micro fiber cloth. I then tipped it forward and had a friend hold it at a 45 angle and cleaned the entire underneath bottom both front and back.
The refrigerator seems to run often and for a long time. I turned the setting down to the 3 position.
Two night in a row I was up late and I monitored the on and off time. I was very surprised to see that the times were very consistent.
The compressor turns on and runs for 14 minutes then turns off. 22 minutes later (from the time it turns off) it turns on again and runs for 14 minutes. I monitored this late at night when I couldn’t sleep two nights in a row. This repeated 3 to 4 times while I sat nearby taking notes for a couple of hours.
So my question is, does running for 14 minutes with an off time of 22 minutes sound normal?
Thanks
Hi,
JMO!
Many most modern (yours still is) refrigerators run 50-75% of the time and this can/will increase to 90% running during hot humid weather times.

This seems like a good and normal running time.

Great job!!
