GE quietpower

My ge quietpower, overflows in cycle. It continues to fill when I reset the unit. It drains fine all cycles through draining but it seems to never catch up. I think it is a water valve, also wondering if it could be the float switch problem?

Does sound like the valve is slow when closing.

These units are notorious for not draining all the way due to a bad piston and nut (Item 564 in Section2). They normally leave about an eight to a quarter inch of water in the lowest point in the tub. If it is more than this you have a drain problem.

You could check this by removing the kick plate.
Either remove one wire from the overflow switch or raise it’s actuator (fake an overfill condition). Now try a fill if it does not fill then the overflow switch is OK.

Set the unit back to normal operation (open the door or unplug the unit if you removed a wire) and then start a fill and from underneath lift the overflow switch actuator.
If the water valve does not shut off right away but does shut off eventually then you know it is just the valve taking too long to close.
