Main Symptom: Dries/Spins poorly or now not at all
What happens & when:
A GE PFQ97HSPV0DS Heat Pump Washer Dryer Combo Unit began intermittently drying poorly months ago. At first the problem seemed to be lint accumulation - of which there was a ton, but that was extensively cleaned and seemed to help some. Then the issue became that sometimes the spin cycle would seem to leave the clothes wet (insufficient spin) and when this would happen the drying would be extremely slow, unsurprisingly. Intermittently the spin would be OK and the drying would be OK, but increasingly the spin was insufficient and recently it does not seem to spin at all. It also seemed to be very loud when it would spin. Now manually trying to rotate the drum does not allow turning unless forced, in which case it will turn for a while making the sound in the attached audio file. I cannot feel wobbly between the inner and outer drum labels and I have looked for items stuck between the layers of the drum but could not find anything (either because nothing is stuck or because I didn’t look in the right places).
In case it helps, intermittently I have gotten the following fault codes intermittently from the service mode:
FCO1: 362 Humidity Sensor Failure (RH short with GNR)
FCO2: 360 Humidity Sensor humidity data out of range
FCO3: OOB Redistribution
Now that the drum seems to seized-up this code has appeared as well:
FC01: 3 Inverter Locked Rotor Critical Fault
FCO2: 366
FCO3: 357 NTC4 Fault
FCO4: OOB Redistribution
I suspect despite the initial codes about the humidity sensors and NTC4 sensor and frequent out of balance errors regardless of what the load is, the true error lies in the spin cycle not spinning well- perhaps due to a mechanical issue such as a bearing??, but I am eager to hear the thoughts of those with more experience in this area. What is the likely issue? Thank you!
