Washer won’t drain after wash cycle. Lid unlocks during wash cycle. Drain pump has continuity. Tries to drain but makes clicking noise. Unsure whether the pump or control board is bad. Which part would you recommend trying next? Or other tests to try?
So it does not drain even when you energize the pump in diagnostic mode? Do you hear any noise that suggests the pump is trying to run? A hum or steady rattling noise?
There is a noise when it tries to drain in diagnostic mode. It will occasionally drain for a split second and then it stops. The noise is not a hum at all. It’s a deep popping noise.
You have something in your pump. Maybe a coin, screw or some other debris. Hopefully it hasn’t damaged the pump yet. You will need to get as much of the water out as you can and the remove the pump to inspect it and the attached hoses for debris
That was the first thing we checked for. The pump and hose are clear. We used flashlights to shine through them and there were no clogs or anything like that.
There is definitely something wrong with your pump the internal seal may have went bad allowing water into the impeller drive shaft. Try turning the impeller by hand, it should rotate smoothly with only magnetic resistance, If there are broken impeller blades, the shaft appears to wobble or ishard to turn or makes a grinding feelin you need to replace the pump
Ended up putting a new drain pump on the washer. Worked for one load then stopped. Doing basically the same thing. Gets to drain part of cycle then stops. Try to put it on drain and spin cycle and sometimes it will drain for a second then stops. Never completely drains. Checked the clutch while replacing drain pump and it looks brand new. No sign of shifter grinding against it. Might have to throw in the towel and buy a new one.
