I have followed diagnosis recommendations and inspected the front drum support. The top of the support has small, thick felt pads that are very worn and I suspect are causing the problem. The bearing slides do not appear to be worn. I want to know if just the felt pads are replaceable before ordering the whole assembly.

The manufacturer does not list the top bearing felt WE09X27635 for your model. However, it should be fine to use on the top bearing. WE09X27635 Felt Top Bearing | Genuine Ge OEM In Stock

It is so odd that there are two of these felt bearings on the drum support but they are not listed anywhere as parts for this dryer!

Newer models tend to have individual parts listed only as a part of an assembly from the manufacturer.
