GE Dishwasher: replacing part # 455- pump connect

Hello,

I’m replacing part # 455 (pump connect) on a GE gsd1200t55 dishwasher.
It is part of the motor-pump mechanism. It’s location in the dishwasher can be found on Appliancepartspros.com website under the “motor-pump mechanism” diagram. The part has internal threads that interface with the external threads of part 550 (found on the same diagram). Part number 550 sits inside the dishwasher tub; part #455 sits underneath the dishwasher tub. The floor of the tub is sandwiched between the two parts. Do I need a sealant of some sort between the threads of these two parts?

Thank you for any advice,

Doug Beckley
