GE dishwasher does not operate

I’m having a problem diagnosing this unit. I found that the door latch was broken, so I ordered another and returned to the house to replace it. Unfortunately, I didn’t check to see what else maybe going on. So after the lever was replaced, there still wasn’t any power to the LED board (signal- board?). I tested the door switch and it was O.K. I tested to see if there was any power coming out of the control board, where it connects with a molex connector to the board that has the LEDs on it. I got about 4.3v AC ,to ground, off of nearly every terminal. The wiring diagram is long gone.
Is the problem with the control board or with the LED board, or with the switches that are in the door, which are connected with a ribbon connector to the LED board?
I searched through the threads and couldn’t find one relating to this situation.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Don,

Check for 120VAC from the door switch to the power board ( the switch has to be engaged). If there is proper voltage then the power board has probably gone bad.

Keep in mind that if something is wrong with the signal board then this part is no longer available.

Hi Gene,
Thanks for your response. I had checked for 120vac coming from the door switch to the board and it was present.
So it is probably the control board that’s bad. What scares me is that if the signal board is also bad and not available, I don’t think the customer will want to pay for the labor and materials already used on this job. I think what I’ll do is tell them the situation and let them decide, being well aware of the risk that it may not work, and the signal board is not available. If they say ‘go for it’ I’ll be ordering that part. Thanks again.
