GE Condenser Dryer GFT14ESSM1WW Service Mode

Brand: GE
**Model Number:**GFT14ESSM1WW
Main Symptom:doesn’t dry
What happens & when:

Does anyone know how to put this dryer into service mode ? I have the service documentation for the model M0 and it says “To ENTER Service Mode: While pressing and holding the Damp Alert and Timed Dry buttons, rotate the Cycle knob more than six clicks.”

However, this does not do anything.

Thanks!

Here is a link for the tech sheet which will tell you how to enter service diagnostic mode.

Thank you. I finally got it into service diagnostic mode and ran test 06, which tests the thermistor2 and 1600W heating element. The screen immediately displayed a temperature of 253F (the dryer was cold). That to me is the smoking gun that the thermistor is broken and needs to be replaced. Thoughts? The service manual indicates I need to replace the entire heater assembly. Has anyone does this? It it tricky ? Thanks!
