GE Bottom Freezer Main Board Replacement

Hey all. I posted here a long time ago about my GE Profile bottom freezer not being able to maintain a 0 temp @ freezer in summer months, as well as sporadically hovering at 5-10 degrees when it wants.

After scouring threads I decided to purchase the infamous main board PN #WR55X10942 and just finished replacing it. After about 20-30 minutes I’m still hovering at 5 in the freezer.

I’m thinking I’m either impatient or I missed something…

The only thing I can think of are the the steps to cut the wire in PIN 2 of the J1 jumper and to cut the green wire in the capacitor located in the machine compartment. I didn’t see a wire in the PIN 2 or see a green in the main compartment (assuming this is the lower panel located at the very bottom of the unit).

Can I assume that it is possible there is neither a PIN 2 cable nor a capacitor green wire? The instructions do mention that if you don’t see them to move on…just want to make sure I’m not missing something.

P.S. - You can see in the attached photo, upper right the J1 connector has a wire in PIN 1, 3, 4, 5, and 9.

Thanks!

You typically should wait about 24 hours for the temperature to stable

good luck

The temp did stabilize after 4-6 hours to 0-1. Over a weeks time it has been fluctuating from 0 to -1 to 1 but for some reason this morning it was up to 5 degrees. I ordered a thermistor to replace in the freezer just in case.
