Main Symptom: water dispenser stuck
What happens & when: the water dispenser is stuck in the on position i have to manually pull it forward to get the water to stop dispensing. i can mess with it to get it to stay in the off position but everytime it is used it gets stuck in the on position again. the water also does not shut off when i open the fridge door. i thought this was a saftey feature but does not appear to work nor has it ever worked since i purchased the home in 2019
Error Code (if any): no error codes or if it does have one i don’t know how to look it up.
Parts or tests already tried: none, this is first time happening.

That’s going to be an issue with the dispenser module 242270106, probably a bad return spring but the manufacturer doesn’t offer those or any other parts for the module individually, only the dispenser module as a whole. There’s a video going over replacing that part on the parts page I’ve linked below.

Replacing this part fix the issue with the water not shutting off when opening the door as well? or is that a seperate issue?
I would think that is an entirely separate issue. Check the door switches 241835505 at the top of the cabinet. Make sure that the interior lights are cycling off only when both switches are depressed and not just when one or the other is depressed.

just tested. the lights only go off when both are pressed. if i have both doors open and i press the switches individually the lights stay on, when i push both the lights turn off
That could be an issue with the main control board, but when I skim through the owner’s manual I’m not seeing anything that says it will stop dispensing water when the door is opened. I’d say you’d need to contact the manufacturer if you want more information on that.
