Main Symptom: Found misc grey rubber caps in glass trap.
What happens & when: while removing the course and fine filter for rinsing, I located the two rubber caps and I do not know where they belong.
Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: spoke with your chatbot, but and was advised that by the bot that thet were to protect metal tips, but the bot wasn’t sure and connected me to a live online agent. The agent told me that the caps should belong somewhere in the sump pump area, but since I could not locate the round ball and other parts in the sump pump area, she was directing me to she said I should reach out to appliance pro community and see if someone could help me

Those do not appear to be parts of the filter or glass-trap assembly on your Frigidaire FGID2466QF6A.
I checked the exploded parts breakdown for this exact model. The filtration area consists of the filter assembly 154283005, glass trap 5304532206, pump/sump components, check ball, seals, etc. I don’t see two small gray rubber caps like the ones in your photo used anywhere in that assembly.
From the photo, they look much more like protective rubber/vinyl caps that came off the end of something placed in the dishwasher—for example, coated rack/accessory ends, a utensil, kitchen tool, or another item that was washed. The fact that there are two matching pieces makes that even more likely.
What I’d do
Inspect the upper and lower racks first, especially any fold-down or adjustable tines, looking for two exposed metal ends. Also check any removable rack accessories and utensils that have recently been through the dishwasher.
If you don’t find anything, I wouldn’t be concerned about reinstalling these somewhere in the sump. The manufacturer’s instructions specifically describe the glass trap as collecting miscellaneous objects such as broken glass, bones, pits, and similar debris, so finding foreign pieces there is exactly what it’s designed for.
Bottom line: I would not put those caps back into the filter/pump area. Reassemble the filters and glass trap normally and run the dishwasher. If you’d like, send me a photo looking straight down into the dishwasher with both racks visible, and I can look for where those two caps may have come from. They really look like caps for the tine ends of the rack
Thank you that’s actually what the ChatGPT thought they were, but since I could not find any other caps on any of the racks or any bar metal anywhere, is why it sent me to a live online agent, however, to some at all up, from your opinion it doesn’t look like a critical part that if I run the dishwasher I’m gonna have a leak right?
No your fine those are definitely protective caps off of something. The filter did it’s job. Have you bought any new utensils or anything that you ran through the dishwasher? I’d suspect that’s where they came from
Probably. But this is the first time I’ve actually took out the filters and rinse them off and I’ve had the dishwasher now for eight years, so they might be from anything; but just as long as I’m not gonna have a leak I’m good thank you so much, Jeffrey.
