Frigidair GRFC2353AF1 door not sealing

For my two year old Frigidaire GRFC2353AF1, the gasket on the upper corner of the lefthand door doesn’t seal. The right hand door seals fine, there seems to be no problem with the flipper mullion, and the gasket seems OK.

If I very firmly press: it will seal. But when closing normally, here’s what it looks like (looking straight down from overhead):

Thanks,
Jaime

Yes — this photo is useful. I can see the condition you were describing.

At that upper corner, the gasket is not being compressed against the cabinet face. There is a visible dark gap between the gasket and the refrigerator. More importantly, the gasket itself doesn’t look obviously torn or collapsed in the photo.

Given your other observations—right door seals, mullion works, and this corner seals if you push firmly—I’d put left-door alignment/geometry ahead of gasket replacement.

The next test I’d do is very specific: with the left door normally closed, look at the bottom-left outer corner of that same door. Press inward there and compare its movement with the bad top-left outer corner.

  • If the top moves inward substantially but the bottom barely moves, the door is effectively twisted/racked relative to the cabinet. Heating or replacing the gasket probably won’t cure the underlying problem.
  • If both top and bottom move inward about equally, I’d look instead at hinge position/door closing force.
  • If the door itself appears correctly positioned and only the gasket lip stays away, then reshaping the gasket becomes much more plausible.

Also check the reveal (gap) across the top edge of the left door. In your photo, I’d want to know whether that gap changes noticeably from the hinge side to the center/mullion side.

The gasket is completely flush on the hinge side, on both top and bottom.

The lower mullion side: also has a slight gap like the top, but a lot loss. The front face of the left door juts out 7/16" beyond the right door on top, and 3/16" on bottom.

Sounds like your door has been tweaked out of square. If you tried adjusting it and it still has a gap try gently trying to tweak the door back true the only other option I can see id a replacement door
