Main Symptom: Display reading error and ice buildup around drain.
What happens & when: The freezer seemed to be running continually. The display showed a dash and then a horizontal line where it used to show -10 degrees.
Error Code (if any): None- I don’t know how to check
Parts or tests already tried: Defrosted, let it sit and then restarted it. Confirmed the drain is working and not clogged.

I checked the resistance on the defrost heater (with it cold) and it is showing between 1.7 and 2.2 ohms.
The defrost heater showed 32 ohm at room temperature.
This photo shows the display when I first noticed the freezer was running a lot.
This was before I unplugged and defrosted the freezer the first time.
These 2 Photos show where a little ice accumulated around the top inside corner of the door. The seal appears to be working as the freezer is maintaining temps (-10 degrees) and it isn’t running all the time after I defrosted the freezer the first time.
Hi obnoxious493, I’ve attached a service manual that can help with the diagnostics. From what you’re describing, it really sounds like you may be dealing with a sealed system issue.
As for the sweating around the door, I would check the door gasket carefully and make sure there are no gaps or slight openings when the door is closed. Even a small gap can allow warm, humid air to mix with the cold air inside the unit, which can cause condensation or sweating around the door.
I would start by checking the gasket all the way around and making sure the door is sealing tightly. The attached service manual should also help you with further diagnostics.

This is how you put the unit into Service Mode and check for error codes. Follow the steps provided, and once you’re in diagnostics, write down any codes that come up and let us know what codes it gives you.

Thank you for the information. I double checked the door seal, including placing a bright spot light inside the freezer with the door closed, and do not see any leaks.
The display on the control board is not reading correctly or working properly as far as I can tell, so I can’t really turn the Service Mode on. I suppose I need to replace the control board to start, but not sure I want to do that if I still don’t know if everything else is working properly.
