I set this dw on the wash setting and the water barely dribbles in from the left side and continues for the entire timing process. When it is time for the wash cycle, it makes absolutely no noise and does not go through a wash cycle. When the wash cycle times out, it drains without having washed the dishes. Water pressure to valve is good, and inlet filter is not clogged. How much water is supposed to come out the side port? When operating correctly, what controls the cleaning arm/jets–pump pressure or house water pressure? How do I test the water inlet valve? I have a digital volt meter. Please help–dishwasher is 3 years old.
the dishwasher should fill and begin washing in just over a minute. the valve should be putting a pretty solid stream of water in. it will not shoot water across the tub, but should not be just a dribble. even though you have good pressure to the valve and the screen is clean, the internal needle valve seat could be deteriorated and causing slow water flow. if only a dribble, replace valve. also when tank is full of water, proper amount should cover almost all of the bottom, without reaching the bottom lip of the tank
