Freezer is working but not allowing cold air to go to the refrigerator

Brand: GE
Model Number: GSE25HMHBHES
Main Symptom: cold air not transferring to refrigerator
What happens & when:

Sometime through the night the refrigerator stopped cooling. Pulled the unit out and cleaned condenser coil and assembly. Plugged it back in and the fan and compressor kicked on. Fast forward about 10 hours and the freezer is at 20 degrees (fan audibly running and checked with an inspection mirror) and getting colder. The refrigerator or “fresh food” side is staying at 50 degrees. I removed the damper assembly to inspect and found no ice build up there but did noticed that the damper door is closed and plugged it back in to test and there was no humming, clicking or otherwise to indicate that it was trying to open to regulate temperature. I am hoping that I am correct in assuming that this is my issue considering that everything else seems to be in working order. Just need someone to confirm or please send me in the right direction.

Thank you in advance!

The damper may not open until the freezer is around 0-5 degrees. If the refrigerator will not pull the temperature down to 0-5 in the freezer, you may have a sealed system problem. The damper should open up and feed the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator section once it satisfies the freezer section.

I will try that. I left it unplugged and open to room temp to defrost anything that might have been locked up.
