The DW operates correctly, but dishes on upper rack have food particles left on. Started doing this recently at around 10 years old. I noticed the upper arm had a piece of cracked plastic where the water enters from the water stream from the pump. I replace the upper arm, but it didn’t make any difference. I’m starting to think it has something to do with the water pressure from the motor.
So, I replaced the pump impellers in this Kenmore Ultrawash unit. But, I don’t think that was the issue. As I was rebuilding the pump, I found the real culprit. There was a piece of vinyl (from rack repair vinyl tips) stuck in a small opening on the Filter Assembly. I think this must have reduced the pressure coming from the pump. Well, at least I learned how to work on the pump. Everything is back together now and working fine.
Lesson learned…make sure you glue down any rack repair tips - or perhaps use a heat gun to shrink them on.
