Food particles on glasses

My Kenmore / Whirlpool dishwasher leaves small food particles on dishes.

I’ve read the Kenmore Use and Care Guide and have followed the suggestions without success.

Is this problem normal for this dishwasher, or could something fixable be wrong with it? I’d appreciate any suggestions.

Detailed symptoms:

  1. Very fine particles are left on glasses.

  2. When a washed glass is filed with clean water, the bubbles on the waster’s surface take a while to disappear. Rinsing the glass a few times with fresh water eliminates the bubble formation.

  3. A quart container with a vinegar mixture was placed upright in the empty dishwasher and run through the normal wash cycle in order to clean the dishwasher. This was repeated a few times. Each time, small food particles collected in the bottom of the container.

  • The water temp and pressure are OK.
  • The water fills to the depth (just touching the heating element) determined by the float sensor.
  • I disassembled and cleaned the ‘Accumulator’ and ‘Feed Tube Assembly’.
  • I tried using a minimal amount of soap.

Thanks.

check your basket in bottom of the dishwasher to see if clogged. If not run a gallon of vinager through on a hot temp, full wash .

A complete model number may be helpful.
I can tell you that the unit is actually a Whirlpool.

What type of detergent are you using?
The best is still granulated. With liquid next and in my opinion the detergent pucks ar useless.

Sounds like the system is contaminated somewhere.
A am assuming you ran it without detergent.
Is it possible that the drain is siphoning crud back out of the house plumbing?

How do you know the temperature and pressure are OK

- The water fills to the depth (just touching the heating element) determined by the float sensor.
Cannot say for sure but in 95% of the units out there the float switch is only used to prevent a flood and does not control the water fill shut off.
Is the tub totally empty after the final drain?

Bubbles on your dishes may be detergent residue but most dishwasher detergents are formulated to have minimal foaming. Could be it is rinse aid residue.
