Ok I need to ask you a few questions before I can help you identify your issue.

When you say press control button do you mean the power button?

When you rotate the control knob does anything light up?

Were you able to get it into diagnostic Mode? If so how?

How long has the issue been going on?

Yes, I do mean the power button, nothing lights up when I rotate the control knob, no I couldn’t get the diagnostic mode because I don’t get any lights pressing the power button, and the issue has been going on for about a week.

I also got a new noise filter, but I was thinking about also getting a new washer electronic control board and see if that might solve the problem. Suggestions would be helpful because installed items are non-returnable.

One test you can do to try and determine if it’s a User Interface ( Whirlpool WP8182717 Washer Electronic Control Board | Genuine OEM Part ) or Control Board ( Whirlpool WP8182697 Washer Central Control Unit | Genuine OEM Part ) issue is.

Locate the hose coming from the washer tub to the pressure/lever sensor. Disconnect it at the tub and blow into the hose. If the control board is working the washer pump should kick on, because it has an anti flood feature that will kick the pump on without input from the User Interface.

If the pump kicks on it’s the user interface, if it doesn’t it the control board. Let me know

Thanks

Where exactly do I find this hose? Do I remove the top of the washer, or is it the front panel?

Well I cleared out the hose at the tub, and it was filthy and filled with muck and grime, and nothing came on, no pump or anything at all after plugging it back in.

Did you blow into the hose to try and see if the automatic flood control kicked on the pump?

If you did and nothing happened I would suggest to change the control board.
