F+P Dryer Motor Shaft Play

Hi all,

Am looking for some suggestions on repairing a dryer. I originally thought the bearing had gone on the motor only to find out the bearing was fine altough it has now grooved a slot in the motors shaft were the bearing has been sitting and now it has lots of play in it.

Is the shaft replaceable? If not is there any other way of repairing it without having to buy a whole new assemble or worse a new dryer.

Any help would be greatfull.

Regards

David

Hi David,

I’m assuming “F+P” states for Fisher & Paykel? Unfortunately there is no online technical information for this manufacturer products.

Gene.

Hi Gene,

Thanks for your input. Yes I do mean Fisher and Paykel. Very popular makes in Australia not so in America I take it.

Thought that most motor shafts on dryers would work the same way with a pulley at one end and an exhaust fan at the other. Would photo’s help??

Thanks
David
