When I tried to start my dryer this morning it wouldn’t start. when I pushed the start button and turned the timer too the of position it would click like it was releasing. I took the switch out and checked it for continuity. When I pressed it, it showed it had continuity , but it does not stay engaged. Model# 11087692800
Hi Buckeye
Let’s start by doing a few simple tests.
-
Use your meter to make certain you have 120 volts coming into the dryer.
-
Unplug the dryer, and tape the leads from the start switch together, then plug in the dryer. If it starts you have a bad start switch. Do not do this to operate the dryer, it is only for a test.
-
Do a continuity check on each of your thermostats and thermal fuse. If one is open, replace it.
-
Do a continuity test on your door switch. Check that you have continuity when the switch is engaged.
Let us know what you find out.
Good luck.
