Dryer wont spin

I put on a load of towels. Left came back about 6 hrs later, and the dryer door was slighlty open and the dryer was still running(normally it shuts off after 45 min or so). It was glowing red in the back, but it wasnt spinning. I shut it off and turned it back on and it wont spin, but heat still works. I would assume it was the belt, but since this unusal circumstance happened with it running for so long, I wonder if it could be a different problem. Please advise. Thank you

Sound like the belt needs to be replaced.
Open it up and take a look at the belt. If it’s broken and laying at the bottom of the dryer instead of around the drum then you will know for sure. :slight_smile:
