I was drying clothes and my dryer stopped. Other than that, the dryer was working fine. When I turn the knob, I can hear the clicking in the dial. That is the only thing that is running on the dryer. The tumbler won’t turn and the heating element doesn’t come on. I checked the door switch, and the circuit breaker. Didn’t seem to be a problem there. I am thinking that it is the thermal fuse that may be blown, from the different forum discussions that I have read and that is keeping the dryer from working. Please tell me where to locate this part, and give the instructions please on replacing the thermal fuse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there is an idea of what could be wrong with this dryer, please tell me where to locate the part on the dryer, so that I may be able to repair this. Thanks in advance for the help.
If you would like to save some $$$ then you have to check all electric parts, like thermostats and/or thermal fuses, for continuity before replacing them. You have to have a simple multimeter to perform such tests.
The first thing I would check is the thermal fuse (#5 on the diagram). If this fuse is blown then beside replacing the fuse and thermostat included in the kit together with the installation instructions, I would recommend to clean the dryer inside and the vent line all the way through the outlet.

Thank you, I will try this. Will check back in a day or so to let you know how it works.
