Does *everything* EXCEPT final spin?!

Kenmore front loader, model 417.44102300.

Washer was working fine until a suspension spring broke.

I replaced the spring, and now it won’t final spin.

It still does everything else just fine… cycle, tumble/wash, fill, drain - everything… except final spin. I’ve tried empty loads, half loads, full loads… no final spin. Clothes are nice and clean, but have to be wrung out to be dryed.

ANY ideas?

The door lock seems to be working… it wouldn’t fill or wash if it didn’t, right?

The speed control board seems to be fine… it wouldn’t turn the motor at all if it wasn’t, right?

The motor seems fine… it does turn to wash the clothes. Even during final spin phase it turns back and forth like it’s thinking about it, but never decides to get up to full speed.

I’ve cleaned out the catch pipe, and it does fill and drain properly.

I’m at a loss as to what to test or try next.

Thanks VERY much for the help!

Anything? Anybody? Help?

Pull off the front kick panel and remove the service sheet. There are diagnostics there for no spin, but you will need a meter.
Don’t think your washer has anti tumble switches on the tub, but I could be wrong.
These washers are notorious for busting spiders and bad bearings so turn the spin basket and listen for bad bearings or a tub noise from a busted spider basket support arm.

Ok… I’m familiar with the test and will give that a try…

There’s no noises - runs as well as the day we bought it (except for this problem, of course). No switches on the tub that I’m aware of.

Thanks for the reply…

I have the exact same problem. Did you find what was wrong with it?

A common problem with these is the door switch. If you have a meter, pull the front bellows off, remove the door switch, insert the door latch and test both door switches with a meter.
