Dishwasher

This machine was a gift from the UPS guy. Worked well for about a year. The cover of the start button was (is) missing. It still worked fine. A couple of months ago it went south. Wife turned it on, the lights all blinked and then nothing. Took the door off and could see a trace of where water trickled across the control board. The start button no longer works at all. It does not depress. Does it sound like a good place to start? (the control board) Also, would you know if the covers are available for the control buttons? Thanks, Bill Hope it’s not too late to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!

If my e mail addy is needed, it’s impala2drht@yahoo.com. Still having probs. Thanks.

I would check the fuse Item 6 in Section 2 first. Should be 0 ohms.
Also you have to replace the start switch Item 2 in Section 2.
And you need a new console Item 1 in Section 2.
Then you could look at the control board, odds are that it also is shot.

Looks like it is in stock
The user interface (switch board) is out of stock so you would have to check on it’s availability.

I am not sure that it makes sense to put that many dollars into this unit !!

According to the amount of posts you have made, I am confident you are the man and this is the right site to be. I am on disability, this is a project I am willing to take on. The money spent does not compare the the cost of a new unit. All I can say/do is that I tried to save a buck, and if successful, you get all the accolades. The help is certainly appreciated. I have the control interface in the mail on it’s way. Will check fuses. Thank You, will be in touch with progress. New ones start @ around $600.00 w/stainless interior.

Have the new switch panel. Looks like the right one too! Happy about that. I can’t locate the fuse you mention. Looked all over with no luck. Any help there?

The fuse is number 6 in the wiring diagram. Should be right there by the conrol board. You need to replace the wires too there is direction on this site as how to do that. You can jump it for a second to see if that is the problem BEFORE replacing any of your parts with your new ones. But if you have a tester there would be o ohms with the wires disconnected and just testing the fuse

BillyQ, I had the user interface control board ordered already. I have replaced that and dishwasher is operating properly. Two of the buttons have no covers on them, so as to prevent any water dripping down onto the new board, a small square of black tape is a good, quick fix. Thanks to all for the help!

Alas, it has conked again. Wife popprd a circuit breaker in the kitchen and just discovered it has no power to it. So, I’m back looking for the fuse to check. It’s suspect. If I can find it this time. Thanks guys.
