I have a Dishwasher that when you push the “start” button on the front it will not start.
I have checked all the connections and have 120 volts.
I have installed a new “board” but still doesn’t work.
The only thing I havn’t check is the start button itself. Is there some way to check the button.
Thanks
Rich

Here is a service manual and a tech sheet

The tech sheet gives the procedure to check the keyboard using a meter.
Sometimes it is just a dirty track/connector.
If the ribbon cable is the type that just the insulation is removed (no connector) then it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Also connectors can be cleaned using electronics cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Just make sure all the solvent has evaporated before reconnecting.
Also hair line cracks can develop across the trails in the ribbon cable, a magnifying glass can help find these.
And of coarse last but not least, the bubble switch is toast which requires a keypad replacement.
Thanks
I check for these things and get back to you

wow, Maytag puts out a lot of useful info, unlike the sparing tidbits I found for my Frigidaire. The info from Maytag allows you to do some real troubleshoot of the control board and user interface controls.
Yes..
I ordered a control board from the factory today.
They say it’s going to be till 9/30/09 until it gets to their wharehouse.
Oh well…
