I just replaced the motor/pump on my GE because it was leaking. the new motor is an upgrade from the original - now the dishes do not seem clean and at the end there is water in the dishwasher - it did not pump out. It almost seems like things are out of sequence. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks
Need more info.
A Model Number may help.
now the dishes do not seem clean
Is the motor running during the wash?
Are the lower spray arms moving during wash?
Is the wash/drain solenoid up or down?

and at the end there is water in the dishwasher - it did not pump out.
Did the wash drain solenoid activate?
Did the motor run when it was supposed to be draining?
Did it pump out and then water siphoned back into the unit?
Plus anything else that you feel would help diagnose this.

Is the motor running during the wash? The new motor seems to be running fine. I just installed the WD26X10013 Universal pump/motor kit
Are the lower spray arms moving during wash? Yes they are moving normally
Is the wash/drain solenoid up or down? I think that may be it - at the end of the cycle it goes down then pops back up - it seems to be up most of the time. It is also new - it comes attached to the new pump/motor
and at the end there is water in the dishwasher - it did not pump out.
Did the wash drain solenoid activate? i dont think so - not at the end of the whole cycle - it obviously does at some point but not when it has to.
Did the motor run when it was supposed to be draining? The motor is running
Did it pump out and then water siphoned back into the unit? No it came out and stayed out -i can turn it on mid-cycle and pump the water out. But everything seems like it is just not getting clean at all so something happens during the wash cycle too. there is plenty of water spraying around inside.

Thanks - I answered all the questions in red above

The way the unit works is during wash the solenoid is up, this puts the flapper valve in the wash position and water is pumped up through the wash arms.
The pump stops (I think not sure about this)
The solenoid is activated and pulled down, this puts the flapper valve into the drain position. The pump comes on pumping out the water. The solenoid is only activated for about 5 seconds then the water pressure holds the flapper valve closed. When the unit is empty the flapper returns to the wash position pulled up by the springs.

It should be pulled down for the final drain in the cycle.
Could be it is not getting power for the final drain which would a timer fault
A common problem with GE’s is the piston & nut assembly.
I cannot find an actual parts breakdown for this unit so am not sure you have one.
If you do it is under a screened cover at the back bottom in the tub.
Remove the cover and it unscrews.
Replace it if it is not sealing correctly.
