I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher model #17772990. The panel shows it is locked by a small red light that is illuminated. When i try to reset it as per instructions on the unit, nothing happens.
What can i do to unlock it?
Most likely the problem is a key stuck in the depressed position. The correction is to replace the control panel. The white control panel has been discontinued by the manufacturer and the only black control panel is still available.

Have you tried unplugging/removing power from the unit for a few minutes to see if it will reset?
