From other posts, I see it could be a thermostat rather than heating element. Any suggestions for finding this out for sure?

How can I be sure the heater is bad? At $50, I want to be sure.
Hi Caldwell
According to the wiring diagram for your dishwasher it does not have any thermostats.
The cause of the problem could be:
a) The heat element
b) The energy saver switch or
c) The timer
You can check all of them for continuity and find the wrong one.
