So we purchased the dandy of a dishwasher 30 days ago. Last night, I placed a water bottle with a metal lid in it. I noticed this morning that the metal lid hung down and it appears the dishes didn’t wash. Our first thought was maybe the arms wouldn’t turn because of it. The bottle was removed and we attempted to rerun the dishwasher. Well after an hour of filling and draining, it gave me the dreaded clean light blinking 7 times. So my husband removed the dishwasher and tested the heater element and received a good OHM reading. So could it be possible that the spray arms just aren’t turning anymore and were damaged in some way by the metal lid? We got a good deal on this $800 dishwasher and have had no problems with it… until now. Help!
One of possibilities is if the incoming water temperature is much bellow 120°F.
If the dishwasher is less than a year old, I would recommend not to attempt any repairs and call Kitchen Aid for the warranty service.

Our hot water heater is set on the highest setting which is about 170 degrees and the water coming in to the dishwasher is very hot. It acts as if it is going through the cycles but you never hear anything but it filling, sitting for a bit, and draining over and over until what I assume is the end of the washing cycles. We’re attempting to locate our receipt, but have scheduled service for 1/8 in the off change we can find it. I was so confident that it would be good to go considering the amount we spent on it.
There is something wrong with the dishwasher. No doubt about it. If you could not find the receipt then the warranty should be count by the manufacturing date which is coded in the serial number.

Well I emailed technician Brian and he said to make sure all the connection to the motor and the yellow cable to the capicator were tight then to check the control board. My husband tightened all connection for the motor, capicator, and control board and we’re up and running again. Looks like we just had a loose wire somewhere.
