When I load my dishwasher and turn it on, sometimes it may come on at that exact time. Others times I may turn it on and it does not do anything for days on end. What part may need to be replaced?

once it comes on if it does it works find through all the cycles
when the cycle light is on the dishes washer works when turn to the on position but most the time in the on position or run the cycle won,t come on that,s on all settings

The first thing I would check is the door switch (#803 on the break down diagram) and wires.
If there is nothing wrong then the problem is a bad timer.
