Brand:GE
Model Number:TFX25CRBEWW
Main Symptom:Evaporator Icing up
What happens & when:Refrigerator runs constantly Replaced the Defrost Heater , Thermostat and Defrost timer . Plugged in unit , it did not turn back on . I waited an hour . still did not turn on . with the repair and the 1 Hour wait it was off for 2 hrs total . I went back onto Appliance Pros website , they suggested that the Defrost timer as the problem . I replaced it with the old one , the Fridge came on immediately and has been working normally the last 2 days . My concern is how do i know the defrost system is working , and am I correct in thinking that the new defrost control may be defective .

That does sound like a defective defrost timer AP2061695. You can check the defrost circuit by unplugging the unit, disconnecting the blue and orange wires at the defrost timer, and taking a resistance reading from blue wire to orange wire, looks like it should be roughly 10-20Ω. If that’s good and the evaporator ices up then you’ve got a bad defrost timer.
