Convert new LG Dryer to LP

Brand: LG
Model Number: DLG8201
Main Symptom: Propane Conversion
What happens & when:

Hate to admit but can’t figure out how to remove the top and front to install LP conversion kit. Couldn’t find any clips in front like many dryers, that release with putty knife. There was a place in the middle that felt like a clip but it didn’t release anything (first pic). This is the new style LG dryer with sloped plastic top. Also tried removing screws on top back panel.

The instructions for the LP conversion kit don’t appear correct for this model. Anyone remove the top on these DLG8 series?

Based on the pictures and what I see, there are not spring clips to push in…It looks to be one where you remove the two lower screws in the control panel back area and then slide the top forward and lift up to remove.

I had tried removing the screws and sliding the forward but it wouldn’t budge even after a few hits with a rubber mallet. Hate to hit it harder but maybe still not applying enough force.

It strange because I got a copy of the service manual and the section on removing the top is clearly for the prior model. Most everything else in the manual has been updated.

Did you ever find out how to remove the top on this model? I’m having the same problem.
