Control panel fault

Whirlpool Quiet Parner Gold (no additional number) model GU980SCGB0…
Works well except… sanirinse button is not responsive.
Is there a data sheet available ?
Is there a button test function, before I disassemble to meter out the switch ?

This is a great looking community. I have just found you today.
Thanks

Harl,

Sounds like the problem is a bad key panel. The correction is to replace the control panel. White and almond control panels are no longer available, so whatever is the color of the original control panel your choice is limited to black only.

Here is the Tech sheet.

disassembled the touch panel ( slightly tricky proceedure), treated with de-ox-it, and reassembled… works well now. savings $123.00 for the part plus s & h

was fun !

Harl,

I’m glad you were able to fix it with no cost to you. Good luck with your dishwasher.

Not for the technically disinclined. Probably easier to destroy the panel than to improve it.
Likely cause… Steam vent was obstructed with soap scum and lime scale, causing water vapor to collect in front panel. Also caused front panel water leak that looked like a seal problem. I had replaced the door seal a while back, but that didn’t fix the leak. Thoroughly cleaning the steam vent assy at the top left corner of the door assy cured the leak totally… again, no $$ cost. (that cover just pops out to the interior with a gentle pry.

Still appreciate this site for advice and parts availability.
Thanks
