Compressor is clicking every 2 minutes freezer starting to thaw but cold

What happens & when: compressor clicks every 2 minutes and is hot, ordered refrig compressor start device, but now not sure if that will work since I am seeing thawing in the freezer… will this work?

That clicking and the fact the compressor is hot indicates the compressor is trying to start/starting, especially if you’ve got any kind of cooling going on. This sounds like you might have a compressor that is going out and tripping the overload.
