That’s behind the evaporator cover in the fridge section. Take of the evaporator cover and you should have access to the evap, the drain pan, and the drain.
Thank you for the quick response.
What’s the best way to unclog and keep from clogging again?
Warm water to flush it and weedeater line or 1/4” water line to snake it and make sure there isn’t any debris in there. As for keeping it clear, some companies will have a length of bare steel wire that loops around the heater and just barely goes into the hole in the drain pan to conduct heat and keep the drain clear of ice. It doesn’t look like they did that on this one, but you may try something similar that may or may not work. There’s also a universal drain trough heater TJ90SH250 that you might try. Neither of these is original to the design, so they might not work or be feasible. Also, make sure the drain pan isn’t warped, damaged, or bowed that can cause water to pool, which means ice.

Thanks again.
Can I do all of this from the front after taking the covers off or do I need to pull it out and inspect from the rear of the refrig/freezer, as well?
I read that Samsung made this unit for GE and found this. Would this modification apply to my unit?
You can do this from the front, but I’d recommend pulling it out so you can access the drain pan in the compressor area and clean it out once your done flushing the drain line.
GE isn’t listing a fix like that for this model so I can’t say if it would apply. They do look very similar though.
So I got the cover off and as you’ll see from the picture, the metal will call it guard pan that goes the full with has started to corrode. I have removed all of the ice and moisture in that area and I can put a screwdriver down about an inch before hitting something solid. Am I to assume that’s Ice? I also removed the back and disconnected both of the drain tubes and as I’m facing the unit, the closest to the right I can send that flexible magnetic grabber 21 inches up without any resistance. On the left side is facing which I’m assuming is going to the refrigerated unit I can only get it up about 2 1/2 inches. What is the best way other than just turning the refrigerator off to get that portion of the drain tube to melt?
That very well could be ice. Flushing it with warm water is the best way to clear the ice blockage, if you’ve got a shop vac you can pour the water in there an let it sit til it cools then vacuum it out, repeat as necessary. Use weedeater line as you go to help with breaking up the blockage. From the other end you can do the same thing with the weedeater line and maybe use a hair dryer on the lowest sitting to direct air up that drain.
Got it to defrost and drain
poured 2 cups warm water with 1 tsp baking soda and it flushed right through into the cup
All back together and fingers crossed.
There was a metal strip wrapped around heater with rivet that too was corroded. I’m thinking some of the corroded metal helped clog it up?
Probably time to start investigating a replacement. My wife wants nugget ice/ pebble ice, pellet ice, or simply chewable ice. Which 35” wide similar French door with 2 or 3 drawers do you recommend we look at.
I forgot to say THANK YOU!

Thanks for the link to the manual. I had found that online earlier.
Have a great evening and thanks again
