Can't disconnect wires on thermal fuse

Hello! Help would be so much appreciated! My 3 year old Roper by Whirlpool gas dryer suddenly stopped heating..It still tumbles etc just no heat. We discovered there was a hole in the venting hose and lots of lent. After reading I think it must be the thermal fuse that is blown. We took off the back and tried to follow the directions for replacing it but have run into a problem. Everything talks like you can just take the 2 wires off by hand. These do not seem to just pull off. I can’t figure out how to get them off. They are attached inside of a little metal thing. Do we need special pliers to pull off the metal things holding the wires? As you can tell I am NOT experienced at fixing things, but I can’t afford a repairman right now. Thank you so much!

Above is a typical thermal fuse.
Yours may be different.
Cannot say as you din not include a model number.
As you can see it has male connectors.
The wires have female connectors that fit onto these.
Sometimes they are very tight.
Get a flat screw driver of the correct width.
Place it between the fuse body and the female connector bottom, then twist the screw driver forcing the connector up.
You may have to work back and forth (side to side) to get it high enough so it is loos.

Do not pull on the wires as you might pull the female connector off. It is just crimped to the wire.
